I once read about a dentist who realised he was extremely idealistic, when he traveled to Cambodia on a volunteer trip, armed with only an educational picture book and a giant toothbrush. With eyes wide open.
I know I am like that dentist, as I walked into Big W at lunchtime and excitedly purchased a turquoise puppy-dog stamp – quixotic, naive and with not a clue or care in the world. How this will change, when I step into the world of paediatric dentistry.
Because I hear that these specialty programmes are made up of registrars’ tears.
